English summary

This is a summary of the information presented on the website of the dog hotel De Lindenberg: www.klappeheide.nl.

Going to the playing field

  • 16 great playing fields: we have 16 large fenced in playing fields, provided with grass and paved at the sides.

  • 3 times a day 30-60 minutes: the dogs are playing 3 times a day on the field for half an hour up to an hour (depending on, among others, the weather).

  • Couples: your dog will go together with his/her girl/boy friend. We let them play in couples instead of playing in a group so we can prevent fighting and can give every dog personal attention. Especially reserved dogs will get more attention in this way.

  • Free: at the Lindenberg the dogs do not have to walk on a leash, they walk free to the playing field. We have many gateways and fences which prevent dogs from escaping.

  • Cameras: through camera's we can keep an eye on the playing fields.

Holiday friends

At the Lindenberg all dogs (if possible) get a dog friend. This means your dog will not be alone in his/her kennel and always has somebody to play with on the playing field.

To choose the right partner for your dog we pay attention to the next things:

  • Male/female: usually we put a male and female dog together. We have experienced that this combination is often the best.

  • Rutting: when your female dog is having her period we will put her together with a castrated male dog or another female dog.

  • Size/age: when we make a combination of dogs we indeed look at the size and age of the dogs. We do not place a large dog together with a small one, and an older and calm dog not together with a young and playful dog.

  • Character: through observing the different characters of dogs we can make the best and nicest combinations.

The kennels

  • Size: the size of the kennels in 'building 1' is 2.00 m. x 1.80 m. and in 'building 2' 3.66 m. x 1.75 m. Additionally all kennels do have a covered outside kennel.

  • Underfloor heating: in 'building 1' underfloor heating is present. Especially for older, small and dogs with a thin fur it is nice to have a kennel including underfloor heating. 'Building 2' is only prepared with normal heating (no underfloor heating), for dogs with a thick fur and for dogs that may easily have hair loss.

  • Dam-walls of synthetic material: the kennels do have dam-walls made of synthetic material which makes noise echo less and it is easy in maintenance.

  • Fans: in both buildings there are fans, which always take care of a fresh air supply. This sufficient ventilation prevents diseases, among others.

  • Outside kennel: all kennels do have an outside kennel. The inside and outside kennel are connected through a kind of flap. This doorway is open as much as possible (depends on the weather among others), so the dogs can walk in and out.

Nutrition

  • Kind of nutrition: generally we feed Royal Canin 'Selection Croc'. Next to this we
    also have:

    • Maxi Sensible

    • Maxi Junior

    • Lamb & Rice (Vobra)

    • Senior/Light (Vobra)

  • Own nutrition: when your dog may not have one of the above mentioned nutrition (for example due to allergy) it is possible to bring your own nutrition. Please put this, together with a measuring cup, in a holder supplied with the name of the dog.

  • Twice a day, separately: we feed the dogs twice a day apart from each other. One dog will have his meal in the inside kennel and the other one in the outside kennel. The reason for this is to prevent fighting and eating too much. In this way we can also check if every dog has finished his/her meal.

  • Canned meat: the dogs do get enough time to finish their meal. However, when a dog does not want to eat, we mix their food with something nice like a little bit of canned meat, of course only when the owner is okay with this. This might be canned meat, duck meat, tripe or bread.

Maintenance and nursing

  • Grooming: we brush and check the dogs daily.

  • Check-up: we check if the dogs might have possibly any mites, fleas, small wounds or injuries.

  • Attention for the dog: when we often groom the dogs we stay in good contact with the dogs and this improves the relationship between the animal fosters and the dogs. We pay special attention to reserved dogs so that they will also have a great holiday at the Lindenberg.

  • Kennels: The in- and outside kennels are cleaned daily with special detergent and a high pressure cleaner, so the kennels will stay fresh and tidy.

  • Diseases: because of our good relationship with the dogs, we quickly notice when a dog does not feel well. If we do not trust the situation we go immediately to the veterinarian.

When a dog comes to spend its holidays

  • Vaccinations: the obligatory vaccinations are: the annual vaccinations and the extra vaccination against kennel cough (we prefer the Nobivac KC nose vaccination). The vaccinations should be given at least 10 days before the dog comes to the Lindenberg and they should not be older than one year.

  • Vaccination passport: you should bring the vaccination passport of the dog every time you bring your dog. This passport will stay with us and you will get it back when you pick up your dog.

  • Contract: when a dog comes for the first time to our pension, the owners have to fill in a contract. In this way we are provided with all the necessary information of the dog and the owner.

  • Reservation: make a reservation in time, because during holiday periods we are mostly already full booked some months before the holiday will actually start. You can make a reservation by phone, by e-mail or through the website.

  • Blanket: when your dog comes for the first time at the Lindenberg to spend its holidays, the owner may take along an old blanket or towel so the dog has something with the familiar scent of home. From the second time on the dog will get a blanket from us to sleep on.
